Influenced by the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the old port, Falconer Chester Hall’s design for the £150m one million square feet development at Liverpool’s Cains Brewery will create a major new tourism and leisure asset as well as securing the city’s iconic beer brand and Grade II listed brewery.
The current listed building reflects all the grandeur, pride and optimism of the Victorian commercial classes, and the plans will see it fully restored to house the new Cains craft brewery, museum and event centre. The building will also house a 100-room boutique hotel, courtyard bistro bar and restaurants and a magnificent open plan retail hall for artisan food producers to make and sell their produce on site.
The plans, also include a four-screen independent art-house cinema, a supermarket, health/beauty and fitness centre, and up to 775 high quality homes with 500-plus car parking spaces.
