Falconer Chester Hall has designed a new 13 storey mixed-use development on a prominent corner site at 54 Kennington Road, London. Currently occupied by a 1980’s 6 storey Days Hotel building, the design proposes the re-development of the site to incorporate a new 4-star hotel, business centre, café/restaurant and community facility arranged around new areas of public realm.
The scheme has been designed to open up the corner junction facing the Imperial War Museum to provide generous new public realm fronted with community and café/restaurant facilities. The ‘tiered’ design responds to the changing scale of the immediate context whilst providing a focal point at the corner junction.
