Planning Submission – Aigburth Road, Liverpool

We are pleased to share that a planning application has been submitted to Liverpool City Council, for our client South Liverpool Homes, proposing a new residential development at 23 Aigburth Road and 34 Alexandra Drive.

The proposals will deliver 57 high-quality homes in one of South Liverpool’s most desirable and characterful neighbourhoods, within the Lark Lane Conservation Area. The scheme brings together the careful restoration of the Grade II listed ‘Enmore’ villa on Alexandra Drive and a contemporary new-build apartment building fronting Aigburth Road.

Our approach has been guided by a strong respect for context and heritage. The existing villa, which has suffered significant fire damage and long-term vacancy, will be sensitively repaired and brought back into active use. Key historic features are to be retained and protected where possible, ensuring the building’s architectural significance is preserved for future generations

Along Aigburth Road, the new apartment building has been designed to respond to the established urban grain. The massing steps and shifts to remain subservient to the listed villa, while pitched roof forms, bay elements and a robust brick façade reference the surrounding streetscape.

The development will provide a mix of social rent, shared ownership and rent-to-buy homes, alongside a generous shared garden for residents.

We look forward to continuing to work closely with South Liverpool Homes and the wider consultant team as the application progresses.
