Falconer Chester Hall are delighted to announce that Horizon Heights, Liverpool was selected as the winner of the North West RICS Social Impact Awards at their first digital award ceremony.
As a regional winner Horizon Heights will be entered in to the National Awards.
The RICS judges commented “Horizon Heights is a high-quality student accommodation that is focused on providing a secure environment and supporting the well-being of its occupants. It uses creative solutions to provide flexible accommodation that can be re-used in the future. The safe guarding of the students is at the heart of the design at the same time it promotes social inclusion. The collaboration between the project team, client and students has been key to the success of the project and created a building that will last for generations to come.”
Over 1,000 units of student accommodation has been created in the flagship development, Horizon Heights. The material palette of aluminium cladding, grey/blue brickwork, large areas of glazing, a series of perforate fins and glass curtain walling provides a positive first impression for visitors to the city.
The unified public realm forges strong connections between the accommodation and its surroundings, whilst providing a functional, attractive and engaging environment for students. This project has been awarded a BREAAM excellent standard for sustainability.
