The Metalworks is a major residential development located in Liverpool’s Pumpfields district, designed by Falconer Chester Hall for Jarron Developments. Positioned prominently at the junction of Leeds Street and Vauxhall Road, the £110 million scheme will deliver 401 homes, including 396 apartments and five high-end townhouses, offered in a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts.
The two 16-storey buildings will form a striking gateway into the city centre, with a design that draws on the site’s industrial heritage. Red brick façades, bronze aluminium detailing and expansive windows create a contemporary response to the area’s architectural character. A range of high-quality resident amenities—including a cinema room, gym, co-working spaces, rooftop gardens, and a running track—has been incorporated to foster community and support modern lifestyles.
Retail units at ground level will help activate the street frontage, while generous public realm improvements and green roofs enhance biodiversity and support the wider regeneration of the Northern Quarter. Sustainability is central to the design, with improved pedestrian and cycle access and direct links to the city-wide Active Travel Network.
Residents will benefit from panoramic views across Liverpool’s historic waterfront and business district, with more than 380 jobs created across the construction and operational phases. The Metalworks represents a key regeneration opportunity for Pumpfields and is set to become a landmark destination within the city.
The development sits directly beside The Gateway, another residential scheme by Falconer Chester Hall.
