Falconer Chester Hall is delivering the technical and delivery-stage architectural design for Kings Place, a mixed-use development in London’s Zone 1. Originally designed at the planning stage by Morris+Company, the scheme comprises 444 student beds—35% of which are designated as affordable housing— 8 Passivhaus-standard key worker homes, and approximately 18,000 sq ft of affordable workspace.

Located in Southwark, the development offers connectivity to institutions including King’s College London and the University of the Arts London. Our design approach refines and develops the original concept, ensuring high standards of buildability, materiality, and integration within the historic streetscape.

Emphasising sustainability and occupant well-being, the scheme incorporates passive design principles, optimised natural light, energy-efficient systems, and biodiversity enhancements throughout. Public realm improvements include tree planting and active frontages, contributing to the revitalisation of the urban environment. The project is scheduled for completion ahead of the 2027/28 academic year.
