Oriel Street, Vauxhall granted planning approval

New residential development approved in Liverpool’s Vauxhall district

Following a positive planning decision this morning, our proposals for a new residential development at Oriel Street, Vauxhall have been approved by Liverpool City Council.

Designed for Rosmara Development Group, the scheme will deliver 158 new homes across a 10-storey development, introducing a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments alongside townhouses. The proposals also incorporate active ground floor uses, including co-working space, a gym and a café, contributing to a more engaging and animated street frontage.

Design approach and key features

A key feature of the design is a double height pedestrian arcade along Vauxhall Road, improving connectivity through the site and creating a more active and welcoming street level environment.

The scheme also includes a generous roof terrace for residents and balconies across the upper floors, ensuring homes benefit from good natural light and access to outdoor space. A strong emphasis has been placed on residential quality, with a high proportion of dual aspect apartments and enhanced daylight provision achieved through the design development process.

Supporting regeneration in Vauxhall, Liverpool

The development has been carefully designed to respond to its context, supporting the ongoing regeneration of the Vauxhall area and the northward growth of Liverpool city centre.

Following a collaborative and iterative process with Liverpool City Council, the proposals have been refined to respond to planning feedback and deliver a high quality residential environment.

Falconer Chester Hall will continue in its role as Architect and Principal Designer as the project progresses toward Gateway 2 and delivery on site.
