Falconer Chester Hall’s modified design for a new residential building on New Bird Street retaining the principles of a previously approved scheme from Tim Groom Architects, but adds an extra 46 high quality apartments to better meet market needs.
The changes allow for a more efficient layout with a reduced gross floor area, delivering 202 residential units made up of 109 one-bedroom, 90 two-bedroom and three three-bedroom duplex apartments. There will also be 1200 sqm of commercial space on the ground floor.
‘The client wants the site to provide high quality, contemporary apartments that meet a need for
affordable residential accommodation within the city centre. This modified design helps meet that
aspiration and highlights the scope for further mixed use development to support the regeneration
of the Baltic Triangle.”
