Falconer Chester Hall has helped to revitalise Liverpool’s high street retail offering with a glittering exterior refurbishment of the old BHS store on Lord Street.
Working with owner Vabeld and tenants H&M, Falconer Chester Hall’s design replaced the previous monolithic façade with a lighter arrangement of full height glazing and elegant aluminium over-cladding.
“The client wanted an outstanding, high quality refurbishment to fight the pull of places such as Liverpool One, and attracting more people to this area of the city centre. Our use of folding white aluminium cladding, symbolising H&M’s flagship brand, creates an appealing and dramatic destination that complements the existing buildings.” commented Quentin Keohane, Project Architect.
Together with the design team, Falconer Chester Hall overcame the challenges of working with the existing building which has been subject to numerous redevelopments since the Blitz.
