Heap’s Rice Mill, a Grade II listed building, is one of the earliest and last surviving warehouse complexes in the area, with previous plans to demolish the Mill having faced strong opposition and the award of listed building status, Falconer Chester Hall started close consultations with English Heritage and local organisations to create a design that balanced the retention of the Mill with a commercially viable high quality residential development.
Four new-build blocks will now sit alongside the refurbished Mill buildings, whose historic façade will be will be a key focal point in the final scheme and will offer residents amenities including a spa, pool, gym, rooftop terrace, coffee shop and museum.
