Part of the £130m refurbishment and redevelopment of One Park Lane, a Liverpool dockland site, the listed Heap’s Rice Mill complex, one of the earliest and last surviving warehouse complexes in the area, will be in part restored and re-used as residential units.
With previous plans to demolish the Mill having faced strong opposition and the award of listed building status, Falconer Chester Hall started close consultations with English Heritage and local organisations to create a design that would balance the retention of the Mill with a commercially viable high quality residential development.
Five new-build blocks will now sit alongside the refurbished mill buildings, whose historic façade will be will be a key focal point in the final scheme.
