The refurbishment and internal remodelling of No.5 Betterton Street has created 2 new apartments and a ground floor commercial space at one of central London’s prime locations, Covent Garden.
A new glass pavement light and the introduction of internal double height spaces have created a dynamic new commercial unit split over two levels with active frontage direct on to Betterton Street. The design was developed to maximise natural daylight penetration to the basement level and turn this once disused space into a high quality, flexible working environment.
At upper levels, the development includes a new 35sqm studio apartment and a 70sqm 2bed apartment. The design acknowledges the character of the existing building and expresses these qualities in each of the apartments.
