Councillors have given the thumbs up to our designs for the transformation of Wolstenholme Square on behalf of the Elliot Group.
This £40m project will see the demolition of low-rise warehouse buildings to be replaced with four new blocks of between three and 10 storeys, housing more than 400 studio and one-bedroom apartments.
There will also be a new home for legendary club Cream and a performance space to be managed by the team behind The Kazimier venue.
The Elliot Group will be working with the renowned sculptor Jorge Pardo, both on the refurbishment of his Penelope installation which currently stands in the square, and also on wider landscape design.
