Falconer Chester Hall were recently invited to the Manchester School of Architecture ‘Meet the Employers’ Open Day as a way to develop the practice’s links with the university as part of the FCH Academy.
The FCH Academy is an internal programme which aims to develop student and staff skills in collaboration with universities and offer support, not only within the office but where students are currently studying at university.
A wide range of practices from across the North West attended and it was a great chance to discuss mentoring opportunities. Part 1 students discussed mentoring which could lead to their first year out placements and more experienced Part 2 students expressed interest in guidance through to Part 3 and eventual qualification as an Architect.
Architects Gary Wolstenholme and Richard Whelan attended the event and found the students to be both proactive and engaging. We look forward to working with several as they progress their careers.
