Planning permission secured for new hotel in Reading city centre

Falconer Chester Hall has secured planning permission for client Thackeray Estates Limited for a new hotel in the centre of Reading. The proposal incorporates the protected pub, The Bugle.

Chris Cox, director at Falconer Chester Hall, who is leading the Reading development team commented;

“We are delighted that planning permission has been granted for a new hotel and retail development at this key gateway site in Reading Town Centre.  Split across two phases, the site presents a unique opportunity to comprehensively regenerate this quarter of Friar Street whilst sensitively restoring a collection of key heritage buildings.  The proposals will introduce new retail frontages along Friar Street and a public market square connecting to Queen Victoria Street.”

Members of the committee had lots of praise for the plans and these can be read in a full article by The Reading Chronicle
