Falconer Chester Hall are delighted to announce that India Buildings has been awarded the Workplace Award by Insider North West at the North West Property Awards on 12th May 2022.
Quentin Keohane, Director at Falconer Chester Hall said “the restoration of Liverpool’s India Buildings shows that sensitive and well-loved historic sites can become high performing, agile, modern, workplaces. Retrofitting this 300,000 sq ft 1930’s ‘Merchants’ Palace’ preserved an iconic building for the city while developing a sustainable and valuable workplace for staff to enjoy, complete with high standards of wellbeing and inclusive design.”
Alex Harrison, project architect added “this project has been a five-year labour of love, I feel extremely proud to have seen it through to completion. We have managed to bring this building back to life and back into use and it’s wonderful that the judges at Insider have recognised what a fabulous workplace India Buildings is.”
India Buildings is the result of five years’ intense work by HMRC, Legal and General Investment Management, consultant design and construction teams creating a new regional hub in the heart of Liverpool city centre for c4,000 employees. Falconer Chester Hall formed part of the Cat A team and worked alongside the Cat B team to bring the project to a successful completion.
