Absolutely delighted to be able to share that our very own Alastair Shepherd has been shortlisted for Architect of the Year in the Hotel Designs Brit List awards.
Alastair’s most recent hotel projects include:
The Other House South Kensington, a cutting edge type of new accommodation in the hospitality sector. The refurbishment of an existing 9 storey Victorian terrace building to form 240 club flats, bringing the building up to modern standards, whilst reducing its environmental impact. Included in the refurbishment is a large area of uninterrupted green roof for guests visual amenity. The ethos of the hotel is inclusive not exclusive, an it will aim to become a mainstream cornerstone of the neighbourhood, putting sustainability firmly front and centre.
Municipal Buildings, Liverpool , a Grade II* listed building is being converted into a luxury four star hotel. Our design includes a four storey extension to the rear of the building, providing a contrast to the existing building with bronze cladding and glass detailing. The highly decorative spaces and existing window pattern are integral to the new design and dictate the division of rooms across the scheme.
Congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted and good luck for the awards evening in November.
