Paul Falconer

Graduating from Sheffield University in 1984 Paul was a partner in a national practice for 10 yrs before establishing Falconer Chester in 1997 with partner Phil Chester. He has overseen the development of the practice since then, focusing on major mixed-use regeneration schemes throughout the country.

A well-known and respected figure within property circles, Paul is also a governor of St Edward’s College and a trustee of the Jonathan Falconer Charitable Trust.

Paul has four children and when not attending to their every need can be found at Anfield or pounding the links at Hoylake.

Adam Hall

Managing Director

BA (Hons) BArch (Hons) RIBA

Adam is a graduate of the Liverpool School of Architecture where he achieved a BA (Hons), BArch (Hons) in 1991. Adam has worked for a number of architectural practices across the country over a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, leisure & mixed use urban regeneration and masterplanning.

Adam joined Falconer Chester in 1998 and has since then been responsible for some of the practice’s major award winning schemes. In 2004, Adam was appointed Managing Director and is now responsible for the day to day management of the practice as well as overseeing all design and technical production.

In his "rare" spare time, Adam enjoys cycling, marathon running, skiing and playing bass guitar.

Alastair Shepherd


Having graduated from Liverpool John Moores University, Alastair joined the practice in 1999, where he has been instrumental in delivering award-winning residential and commercial schemes across the country.

Most recently his focus has been on delivering large scale regeneration projects in Salford, while helping to develop the practice's profile in the student housing sector.

He has a great enthusiasm for sustainability issues and has served as a consultant on local authority design panels.

He was appointed as a Director in 2007.

His interests include music, cycling, photography (see photos of recent schemes on this website as evidence) and supporting the lost cause that is Hartlepool United.


We have a great team here at FCH, with committed architects, architectural technologists, architectural assistants, interior designers, financial administrators and welcoming voices on reception.

We have an enviable wealth of experience while being consistently enthusiastic about making a positive impact on our surroundings.

We have a strong work ethic and are absolutely committed to exceeding expectations, delivering projects on time and on budget.

Many of the people who form the FCH team have been with us for over 10 years, so understand the standards we look to maintain, whether that be delivering projects on site, producing feasibility studies or drafting documents in support of planning applications.
