Putney Planning Consent

We are delighted to share that our mixed-use scheme in Putney, south London, was won planning permission.

The planning win comes three years after a previous application for a 25-storey building on the site by Will Alsop was rejected. The previous scheme was branded ‘overbearing’ when it was thrown out by Wandsworth Council in late 2008.

Having re-appraised the site our proposals are lower, but feature four buildings rather than two, ranging in height from five to 11 storeys. The design benefited from extensive consultation with the local community, including The Putney Society, who were vocal in their objections to the previous scheme. We also received support from Wandsworth planning officers and the GLA.

With 25 per cent affordable housing, the mixed-use development will also house offices, leisure space, new public realm and car parking.

This is a pivotal commission for us being a major redevelopment project in South West London won against competing practices from the capital, and boasts our expanding London portfolio, which includes residential and hotel schemes in Acton, Soho and Lambeth.
